Setting up synthetic reeds takes time, both initially and over the first few weeks. Only make 'slight' adjustments to blade length and body length over a period of weeks after the initial set up. Ezeedrone supply four different bass reeds --- the standard reed for most pipes, a Long Bass Reed for sharp bass drones (tuning too high), an Inverted Bass Reed for bass drones difficult to strike in, and a Short Bass Reed for flat bass drones (tuning too low). Wygent also supply invertable reeds. Set up instructions for Ezee/Wygent Set up instructions for Balance Tone Set up for cane reeds are near enough the same as for Ezee/Wygent except disregard the threaded screw, to make the reed tune higher or lower move the bridle, make the tongue longer to tune lower and opposite, reed will take more or less air.
