Minutes of the January 23rd meeting of the RSPBA L+B Branch held in the West End Hotel.


The branch is buying a lap top computer for £1000 and the loan given to the Assoc is to asked for back to pay for it.

Letters to potential sponsers for structured learning courses have been sent out.

Ian Kirkland is to explain the template to be used for a web site. Perhaps a small group could be set up to maintain this website.

15 students are currently attending the Structured learning Elementary course.


Secs report:

A few letters have been sent to various people. 26th Dec a letter to Penicuick contest asking if they still wished to go ahead. 26th Jan letter to A Aitken congratulating him on his OBE.

Melrose comp no longer holds G1.


Nat council report:

2000 Band subs up to £100 adult bands and £80 for juvenile bands.

There has been problems with adjudicators at their consultation period. National council members are to sit in at the contests.

Advanced course exam put back 2 weeks.

Melrose has applied to HQ to hold a major comp in 2001.


AOCB:

A list of current committee members to be produced and the length of time each has to serve.

A letter to be sent to the organisers of the Penicuick contest telling them that the branch has pulled out due to lack of response from them.

There might be problems with the indoor contest in April as this falls on the Easter weekend.


Treasurers report:

Bank balance is £6023, + £1000 loan to HQ.

Willie McBride has had a stroke and is in hospital. card to be sent.


Millennium group report:

S Henderson gave the branch a very comprehensive report.


Next branch meeting Sunday 27th Feb in Peebles ex serviceman's club at 5pm..
